Paid places on OfferDue, and what is never for sale

OfferDue reports what public records show about a home. A business may buy a labelled place beside the free listings, paid once for a fixed term; no one can pay to change a record, a report or the order of the free listings.

Can be bought

  • A labelled place on a "Who helps" page, a town home team or a playbook
  • Bought once, for a fixed term, at a flat price
  • "Paid place" written beside it, every time

Never for sale

  • A finding, a status, a source line or a correction
  • A place inside a report, a free check or a records entry
  • The order of any list on OfferDue
  • A "recommended", "preferred" or "partner" label
  • Anything about the people who use OfferDue
  • Anything billed monthly

Free listings

Being listed is free, after a check against the profession's public register where one exists, and the free listings show in the order businesses were checked. OfferDue takes no fee for a client who finds a listed business, and pays none. A trade or home service pays a flat fee, set in advance, for each request a person chose to send it; agents, mortgage agents and brokers, lawyers and insurance brokers never pay for a request or an introduction (the terms, "For listed businesses").

What is never for sale

  • What a report or a free check shows: its findings, statuses, maps, summaries and sources, and the order they appear in.
  • Which checks a report covers, and what our coverage pages say.
  • Corrections: no one can use the corrections process to change a record.
  • The order of any list on OfferDue.
  • Anything about the people who use OfferDue: who they are, what they looked up, or which address they checked.
  • A label such as "recommended", "preferred" or "partner", paid or not.
  • A place inside a report, a free check's result or a records entry.

Words we never use about a listed firm

We never call a listed firm recommended, vetted, trusted, preferred, approved or the best, and we never say that it fixes anything a record shows. OfferDue has not inspected or assessed the work of any listed firm and does not recommend one. Check licences and references yourself; who does what in an Ontario offer names each profession's public register.

Privacy

No business, paid place or not, receives anything about any reader, buyer or owner; a person's request reaches a business only when that person sends it. Our pages, reports and emails carry no third-party advertising scripts, pixels, cookies or tracking links. Our privacy page names every service that handles visitors' information.

Public bodies

Listings on OfferDue are not connected with, reviewed or endorsed by any City, the Province, a conservation authority, a regulator or any other public body whose records appear here, and we never use their logos.

Telling us

If a paid place isn't labelled, or anything on OfferDue reads like an advertisement inside the records, tell us at [email protected]. To report an error in a record, use the corrections list instead.

Public-record information, not legal, financial, insurance or inspection advice. OfferDue reports what each record shows, with its source and date; a listing is not a recommendation.
