What the record shows
For 2026 the City's sheet lists a residential rate of 0.403528% for the City, 0.780760% for the Region of Durham and 0.153000% for education, set by the Province, a total of 1.337288%; the sheet prints the rates as decimals (0.01337288). The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by that rate.
An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
