What the record shows
The City's table lists a 2026 residential rate of 1.797234%, up from 1.733719% in 2025. The page says the City sets the general municipal and transit rates, the County of Lambton sets the county rate and the Province sets the education rate, and that the posted rates are the total of all four; the residential education-only rate it lists is 0.153000%. The page does not publish how the rest divides between the City and the County.
The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by the rate. An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
