What the record shows

Belleville sets its rates by service area: the City's page explains that its five tax rate tables charge for the police, fire, transit and streetlighting services each area receives. For 2026 the residential rate is 2.030312% in Belleville Urban (1.877312% municipal and 0.153000% education, set by the Province), 1.945889% in Cannifton Urban, 1.837383% in Cannifton Rural to Urban, 1.799924% in Cannifton Rural and 1.494529% in Belleville Rural. The City's Tax Billing Table Map shows which table applies to an address.

The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by the rate for its table. An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
