What the record shows

The City's table writes the rates as decimals. For residential property (class RT) in 2026 it shows 0.0051735 for the City of Cambridge, 0.0084183 for the Region of Waterloo and 0.0015300 for education, a total of 0.0151218, or 1.51218% of assessed value.

The City's page says the tax is the combined rate multiplied by the current value assessment set by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), that the City's and the Region's rates come from the annual budget, and that the Province sets the school board rates. An asking price is not an assessed value, and the class matters: the same table puts multi-residential property at 0.0280341.
