What the record shows

The Ontario Railway Network maps tracks, crossings, junctions and stations, which in Fort Erie means the rail lines through the town and any stations along them. The Utility Line dataset maps lines that carry power, water, communications and heating fuel: hydro corridors, natural gas and water pipelines, and lines of unknown type. The feature type matters, because not every mapped line is a gas pipeline.

Both are mapping records, not a locate of buried services and not a statement about noise, vibration or a building setback. The Utility Line dataset's records date from 1977 to 2008, so a blank map is not proof that no line exists.
