What the record shows
For 2026 the Town's table of final tax rates lists a residential rate of 0.354106% for the Town, 0.861130% for the Region, which it says includes the Region's general, waste and transit levies, and 0.153000% for education, set by the Province, a total of 1.368236%. Niagara Region's By-law 2026-16 sets those three rates for Grimsby at 0.774131% general, 0.046298% waste management and 0.040701% transit. The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by that rate.
An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the Town.
