What the record shows

The City's 2026 sheet lists a residential rate, education included, of 1.259111% for most areas, among them Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Omemee, Woodville, Emily, Manvers and Mariposa; 1.573877% for Lindsay; and 1.419949% for Ops. The education rate set by the Province is 0.1530% in each, so the City's share for most areas is 1.106111%. The sheet says it is a reference tool only and is not to be used as the basis of legal transactions.

The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by the rate for its area. An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill: the City's page says the 2026 final bills were mailed on 25 May 2026, due in two instalments on 30 June and 29 September, and the bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
