What the record shows
For 2026 the City's table lists a residential rate of 0.177477% for the City, 0.392412% for the Region of York and 0.153000% for education, a total of 0.722889%. The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by that rate; the City's own example is the 2026 average residential assessment of $822,671 and a bill of $5,947.00.
An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
