What the record shows

The Province's Greenbelt maps page lists the Town of Orangeville on Protected Countryside sheet 33, with the Township of East Garafraxa and the Towns of Mono and Caledon, and on sheet 35, with Erin, East Garafraxa and Caledon. The Town's Official Plan (March 2025 consolidation) does not name the Greenbelt. The County of Dufferin's Official Plan says the Greenbelt Plan must be referred to for whether lands are affected, and that local official plans identify the Protected Countryside.

The County's plan also places part of the Town of Mono, in its southeast corner, in the Oak Ridges Moraine plan area, and counts Niagara Escarpment Plan lands in the county as part of the Greenbelt. A result from the provincial layers says whether an address falls inside a mapped area and which designation; it is a planning boundary, not a statement about what a particular lot may be used for.
