What the record shows
For 2026 the City's table lists a residential rate of 1.770136% for the City, made up of its general, garbage, public transportation, sewage and drainage, and street lighting rates, and 0.153000% for education, set by the Province, a full-service total of 1.923136%. The City's 2026 tax guide puts that at $1,923 for every $100,000 of assessment, $67 more than in 2025. The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by that rate.
An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate is not a bill. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
