Is the home inside an airport noise zone?
Municipalities near an airport draw the noise contours into their planning documents. Ottawa's Zoning By-law 2026-50 carries an Airport Influence Area overlay, which the check reads; in other cities the zone is on the Official Plan maps.

What the record is
The contours come from the airport operator's noise exposure forecast. Inside the zone the planning documents limit new residential building, require noise measures in new construction, or both.
In Ottawa the report line says whether the lot is inside the overlay. Elsewhere it points to the Official Plan maps of the municipality.
