What the record is
Wetlands are evaluated by the Ministry of Natural Resources under the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System, and the ones found provincially significant carry extra protection in provincial planning policy. The layer records the boundary and the significance of each evaluated wetland.
The report line says whether a mapped wetland lies within 500 m and, when one does, its name, distance and whether it is provincially significant. Unevaluated wetlands are not in the layer.
