What the record shows

Most of Toronto is outside the Greenbelt, but not all of it. The Province's map series lists a Protected Countryside sheet covering parts of Toronto, Pickering, Ajax and Markham (the Rouge lands), and Urban River Valley sheets for the Rouge, Don and Humber rivers, Etobicoke Creek, and additions in 2022 for Humber Creek, Black Creek, Wilket Creek, Burke Brook and Taylor Creek. The Province notes that in Urban River Valley areas the Greenbelt Plan's policies apply only to publicly owned land.

So a result from the provincial layer says whether an address falls inside the mapped Greenbelt Area, and which designation. For a Toronto home near a ravine, the map, not the street name, is the record. The Oak Ridges Moraine and the Niagara Escarpment lie outside the city.

What OfferDue covers in Toronto

The Greenbelt, Moraine and Escarpment check runs for any Ontario address, in the free check and in the full report, from the Province's layers, and names the designation where one applies. It reads the mapped boundary; it doesn't say which parcels in a river valley are publicly owned.
