    1.27%of assessed value, 2026

The 2026 residential property tax rate in Ottawa is about 1.27% of assessed value. That is the urban rate, worked out from the City's published $1,271 of tax per $100,000 of assessment (education included, rounded by the City to whole dollars); rural areas pay less because transit and fire service differ: $1,053 per $100,000 with reduced transit service and $1,004 where only Para Transpo runs. The bill also carries a solid waste fee of $267 a year for curbside homes.
