Whitby by-law 4640-00: a Town permit is needed to remove private trees in woodlots of 0.2 to 1.0 hectares, on Official Plan open space, hazard, environmental, Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine lands, on residential lands of 2.02 hectares or more and in heritage districts; single trees elsewhere are generally not regulated, and Durham Region By-law 30-2020 covers woodlands of 1 hectare or more.
