What the record shows

The Oak Ridges Moraine maps name New Tecumseth: the moraine plan's sectional Map 1 is titled for Caledon, Adjala-Tosorontio, Mono and New Tecumseth, and boundary sheet 2 lists New Tecumseth among its municipalities. The Town's Official Plan says it was prepared in accordance with the Greenbelt Plan, but that all of the lands subject to the Greenbelt Plan are also subject to the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, whose policies are included in the Official Plan; it has its own section on the Oak Ridges Moraine Area and an Oak Ridges Moraine Countryside Area designation.

Zoning By-law 2021-128 carries the moraine onto its schedules: Schedule H shows the Oak Ridges Moraine zones, Schedule I the moraine aquifer areas and Schedule J the landform conservation areas, and its home occupation rules differ inside the Oak Ridges Moraine Area. A result from the provincial layers says whether an address falls inside a mapped area and which designation; it is a planning boundary, not a statement about what a particular lot may be used for.
