What the record shows

For 2026 the City's schedule lists, for the residential class, a general levy of 1.458676% in every ward and the education rate of 0.153000%, set by the Province; Ward 1 (Trenton) adds 0.008551% for streetlights and 0.158018% for fire, a total of 1.778246%; Ward 4 (Frankford) adds the streetlight rate, a total of 1.620228%; and Wards 2 (Sidney) and 3 (Murray) pay the general levy and education rates only, a total of 1.611676%.

The bill multiplies the home's assessed value from MPAC by the rate for its ward. An asking price is not an assessed value, and a rate for the wrong ward is the wrong rate. The actual bill for a home, and any amount owing on it, sit with its current owner and the City.
