What the record shows
By-law 19-077, in force since 1 July 2019, sets a Municipal Accommodation Tax of four per cent of the purchase price of accommodation for less than 30 days provided in a hotel, motel, inn, bed and breakfast, resort, dwelling unit or any place in which accommodation is provided, collected by the provider and shown on the invoice.
The zoning by-law permits a bed and breakfast in a single detached house only, with at most three guest rooms, and only in the zones that list it as a permitted use; it is deemed a residential use and follows the zone's rules and the parking section. The by-laws are the public rule. How a particular home is used is a separate question.
