The Ontario Railway Network and the Ontario Utility Line dataset; Appendix 2 and section 3.54 of the City's Zoning By-law 050-2014 on the two pipelines; and section 5.2.6 of the City's Official Plan on rail.

What the record shows
The Ontario Railway Network maps tracks, crossings, junctions and stations, which in Brockville means the CN and CP rail lines and the rail station that the City's Official Plan names. The Utility Line dataset maps lines that carry power, water, communications and heating fuel: hydro corridors, natural gas and water pipelines, and lines of unknown type. The City's Zoning By-law shows the approximate routes of the TransCanada PipeLines and Trans-Northern pipelines on its Appendix 2; section 3.54 bars development on a lot abutting either without the company's written consent where the law requires it, and sets a 7.0-metre setback from the TransCanada right-of-way for buildings and for parking areas.
The Official Plan asks for noise and compatibility studies for new homes within 300 metres of an active railway and a vibration study for development within 75 metres. The provincial layers are mapping records, not a locate of buried services and not a statement about noise, vibration or a building setback for a particular lot; the zoning by-law itself says its pipeline lines are approximate. The Utility Line dataset's records date from 1977 to 2008, so a blank map is not proof that no line exists.
